What happens after Registration?

You will receive an email notification containing your log-in details and password. After log-in to any data counts generated will be automatically stored in your Marketing Lists Store account.

How do I Log In?

At the top of the page there is a log-in section.  Enter your email address and password in the blank boxes provided then click on the Login button.

I cannot Log In?

The password is case sensitive.  Having Caps lock on may cause you to enter your password incorrectly.  Please contact your account manager or agent if you are still having problems gaining access to your account.

How do I perform a count?

To create a new data count and quote click ‘New Count’ on the top navigation bar.  Complete steps 1 to 5 and get an instant result.

What selections are available?

There are four main types of selections.  Data type selections either postal or telephone, geographic variables, consumer lifestyle selections or business industry selections.

How do I select the area that I require?

In stage 2 of the count process use the region specific tree navigation to expand, contract and select geographical areas.  Use the Radius Search tab to define a radial zone from a centre postcode or to search the entire population click the UK Wide tab.

How do I select Lifestyle/Industry information?

In stage 3 of the count process use the tree navigation to expand, contract and select variables.

The count returned a zero ‘0’ result?

This will be a result of conflicted selections chosen from the Profile groups with the AND statement.  For example selecting a retired household AND a child age of 5 years or younger will cause a conflict as it is not a normal trend.  By changing this statement to OR would remove the conflict and return a result.

My count has returned a smaller volume then I require?

You can widen the search criteria by editing and modifying the count selections.

How do I alter the selections of a previous count?

Alter count selections by clicking the edit button on the ‘Previous Counts’ page.  This will navigate to the 5 stage count process where selections can be easily changed and re-submitted.

How do I view previous counts I have done?

Counts generated by registered users are automatically saved and stored on the ‘Previous Counts’ page. On this page you can view all of the counts you have previously performed and their results.

I can’t find a count that I submitted?

Submitted counts are only saved when you are logged in to your account.  It’s possibly that you were not logged in at the time of generating the count.

How long are My Counts stored for?

All of your previous counts will be stored, there is no expiry limit.

Do I need to re-submit an old count?

It is highly recommended that counts older than a month are resubmitted before they are purchased in order to take data updates into consideration.

How do I purchase data from a count?

Data can be purchased directly from the count result page.  Alternatively previously counts can be purchased by clicking purchase from the ‘Previous Counts’ page.

What is the section, TPS Checks?

TPS Checks is an automated data cleansing service.  Upload your existing telephone numbers here to clean and update your telemarketing list against the TPS. The TPS (Telephone Preference Service) is updated on a regular basis in accordance with the law and Information Commissioners Office (ICO).  This is a fast and efficient service that will keep your campaign trouble free.

Purchase & Downloads

How will I receive the data?

Data orders are available for download in the “Purchases & Download” page.  When the data is ready for download an email will be sent to notify you that the data file is ready for download.

How do I download my data purchase?

Log In to Marketing Lists Store and click through to the “Purchases & Download” page.  Here you will find listed the purchases you have made, downloadable by selecting the download button on the right side of the screen.

In what file format will my data be output?

The data file is ZIP compressed to help speed up the transfer rate.  Inside the ZIP will be a CSV comma delimited file type that can be opened and viewed in various editors including Microsoft Excel.

What is a CSV comma delimited file?

A CSV file (comma separated values) is a specially formatted plain text file.  The file is structured with one record per line and each field within that record is separated by a comma.

My download is not displaying the telephone number correctly?

This is a common import issue when using Microsoft Excel.  Excel interprets the column as a general cell and the leading zero from the number is lost.  The solution is to open the file using the import wizard and set the telephone number column format as text.

How long will my purchases be available for download?

There is no time limit to download your purchase.

Can I download my data purchase more than once?

Yes data files are always available for download and can be downloaded infinite times.

How can I be sure that I do not purchase the same data in future?

To exclude data that you have purchased before you will need to select this data in the count process from stage 4, De-duplicate Options.  Edit your count and make sure to select the purchase you wish to exclude.

Is there a charge to use the online system?

No, the online system is FREE to use and generate data counts.  Submit as many data counts as you would like with no obligation to purchase.

I have a limited budget can I specify how many prospects I want?

You can select the number of prospects you want to buy. In stage 5 of the count process, enter the number of records you would like and click the calculate button to display the associated cost.

What kind of data is available on Marketing Lists Store?

Consumer data (B2C) and Business data (B2B) are available both have coverage across the entire UK population.  Postal or Telephone data is available with geographic, lifestyle and industry variables.

How do I know the data is up to date?

The data in Marketing Lists Store is regularly verified and confirmed, utilising the latest data sources including the latest version edited Electoral Roll and partner sourced Data Pool.  Verifying against the most recent information available ensures data is current and maintained to industry standards.   Privacy and preference suppression services including the MPS are employed so that individuals not responsive to marketing are eliminated.

How often is the online data updated?

Our data hygiene & verification contracts are undertaken through numerous and different primary and third party licenses.  Updates vary between the individual licenses ranging from weekly updates to more substantial updates on a quarterly basis.  All data hygiene and updates are fulfilled at industry standards.

What is the TPS?

The TPS (Telephone Preference Service) is an opt-out register where individuals register that do not wish to receive unsolicited sales and marketing telephone calls.  It is a legal requirement that companies do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS.

What is the MPS?

The MPS (Mail Preference Service) is a list of names and addresses of consumers who wish to limit the amount of direct mail they receive. The use of the MPS file by list-owners and users is a requirement of the British Code of Advertising, Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing administered by the Advertising Standards Authority. It is also a condition under the Code of Practice of the Direct Marketing Association.

Is my account secure?

Accounts can only be accessed by using the registered email address and password.  It is important to keep your login details secure.  Marketing Lists Store cannot be held responsible for any unauthorised access and use of your account.
